Mega Millions Jackpot grows to $790 million

(CNN) The Mega Millions jackpot has jumped to $790 million after no tickets matched the six winning numbers in Friday night's draw.

Friday's winning numbers were 14, 40, 60, 64, 66, plus the Mega Ball 16 gold, according to the lottery website.

The $630 million prize that night was equivalent to about $388 million in cash, the lottery said.

The next draw is scheduled for Tuesday, when the cash prize is estimated at $464.4 million.

"There have only been three lottery jackpots ever won - in any game - at a rate higher than next Tuesday's estimated prize pool of $790 million," the lottery said in a news release.

Two of them are the Mega Millions jackpot -- $1.537 billion won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018, and $1.050 billion won in Michigan on January 22, 2021.

The $1,586 billion Powerball jackpot is the world record for the jackpot, which was won on January 13, 2016.

Although one of the six numbers was not drawn, there were four big winners on Friday as they drew the first five numbers.

In the case of three of those tickets - which were sold in Delaware, New Jersey and New York - they chose the Megaplier, with each awarding a $3 million prize. The fourth ticket to match the five numbers was sold in Virginia and was worth $1 million, according to the lottery.

Four major prizes have been won this year in Tennessee, California, New York and Minnesota.
